Myth 3 – Email Doesn’t Work
Video Summary
I’ve got a question for you. Are you capturing names and email addresses at your websites?
If not, why not?
For some reason, people seem to think that email doesn’t work as a traffic generating method. They put up niche websites and are happy to have their visitors click on Adsense or affiliate links without trying to capture their opt-in details! Wrong, wrong, wrong!
Every website should try to get opt-ins to an email list, even if it sells toilet brush holders!
When you have an email list to mail to, you can generate traffic YOURSELF, without relying on Google search engine positions, or whether someone “faves” your Squidoo page.
In the video I show you people opting in to my mailing list and visiting the website as a result of my mailouts. Over time, the number of people on the list is growing and so is the percentage of traffic coming to the site as a result of mailouts… which means I control more of the website traffic.
It’s not just about control though… the people who opt-in are more motivated to hear what you have to say, and the ones who return to your site are even MORE motivated… that’s a strong indication that they’ll be likely to act on any future recommendations and generate income for the site via sales and offers.
So, if you have sites without signups, start an email list, today!
NOTE: At the moment, people on my niche list just get announcements of new blog posts with a link to the blog post, automatically, so it’s “hands-free” traffic!
What do you think
Do you use opt-ins to drive repeat traffic at niche sites? If not, has the video convinced you to start?
